Using Pap2 adaptor via a WiFi extender

I wonder if anyone can help.
I have two ATA adaptors one is with Vonage the other is Linksys PAP2 using localphone. Both work perfectly well connected directly to my Rueter. The Vonage adapter also works if I plug it into a Wi-Fi extender. Unfortunately the linksys doesn’t.
As far as I know it is connected to the Internet because the timeserver still works but it will not connect to the SIP server.
I’m sure it’s a setting that I’m not using properly, any suggestions?
